With the 2008 Presidential Election here, this year's race between Barack Obama and John McCain is finally coming to the home stretch.  With a few 'Battleground' States like Ohio, Florida, Colorado and Virginia getting each candidates attention in the final week, it brings into focus just how valuable each state's Electoral College votes is.  The Electoral College consists of 538 popularly elected representatives who formally select the President and Vice President of the United States and is a prime example of an indirect election.  It's well known that the winner of the majority popular vote isn't always the one that's elected President, it's the one with the most Electoral College votes that's gets nominated.  Just ask Al Gore.
