SYSTEM OF SCARS ON BROADWAY
September 09, 2008 -

JOHN DOLMAYAN ON THE CONTINUOUS QUESTIONS OF RETURN OF SYSTEM
SCARS ON BROADWAY AN EVOLUTION FROM SYSTEM

SCARS

Although System of a Down bid farewell to their fans after a very success Ozzfest Tour in 2006 with their indefinite hiatus and all the members have gone on to enjoy success after the breakup, it's clear System fans are anxiously hoping for a return to the stage and studio in the near future.

With Serj Tankian capturing mainstream success with his album 'Elect the Dead' and with John Dolmayan and Daron Malakian continuing to tour in support of Scars on Broadway's debut album - and bassist Shavo Odadjian continuing his successful endeavors of Achosen - it's seems they still can't away from all the questions about System of a Down.

"It doesn't get old.  No questions get old because they always ask enthusiastically by the person asking them.  Kids that come up to you and ask you 'I wish System, when is System going to play again?  Is it going to play again?'  They are very enthusiastic when they ask these questions because it means something to them.  So, if it means something to them I feel like it should mean something to me."

John also mentioned some fans might find Scars on Broadway is an evolution of System of a Down.

"In some ways you can look at Scars as an evolution from System.  In other ways you can look at it as a completely different band.  I guess it depends on who you ask.  Fans have varied opinions and you read what they put up on the internet and some people are very pleased that there's all this music coming out of us and some of them just wish it was System and you can't change that.  Fans are always going to think what they want but ultimately you have to be true to yourself and play music that pleases you.  Otherwise, if you can't sell it to yourself how are you going to sell it to anybody else."

Scars on Broadway have just released their video for their latest single 'World Long Gone.'  Scars on Broadway have also finally announced their first ever headline tour in North America, and they will be joined by The Duke Spirit. Dates begin October 19th in Atlanta, Georgia and extend until November 26th in Houston, Texas. Currently Serj Tankian is back in the studio working on the followup to 'Elect the Dead.' Although nothing is set in stone, Tankian will look to have his next album released in 2009.
