Soul singer Chrisette Michele is still promoting her debut album, I Am, and the singer recently released a new single and video, "Best Of Me." The song is the follow-up to the set's lead single, "If I Have My Way."

I Am continues to quietly rake up sales of 10,000 copies a week and the set has sold over 147,000 copies since it was released in late June. The album was Number 56 on the Billboard 200 albums chart last week.

Michele, who is currently on the Hennessy Artistry Tour, shared that she's really grateful to have LA Reid behind her project. The music executive and producer signed Michele to Def Soul/Island Records after she auditioned for him in 2006.

Michele said, "LA Reid is a very very smart man. He's been doing this for years and years. And you go through so much as a brand new artist, writing every song, and figuring out what's gonna be on the album. Sometimes you just want somebody to say, 'Try this,' because you don't know what to do yet. So LA Reid gave me a lot of advice and at the end of the day we came up with 'Best Of Me,' and 'If I Have My Way,' for my first singles."
