Mark Hoppus, formerly of Blink 182, has appeared on dozens of TV and radio shows, and has been interviewed numerous times, and now he's trying to take a crack at being a media outlet. Hoppus has taken advantage of podcasting and he's offered his first series featuring music, interviews, and commentary.
We sat down for an interview with the current Plus 44 bassist and singer and asked him to describe what goes into the podcasts.
"Yeah, it definitely does have a Wayne's World type of vibe because it's very low budget. It's just something I do out of my house, and just do because it's fun. I want to hopefuly expose some bands that might not normally get played and just play some music that I love."
Hoppus was asked about the programming choices that are available on the podcasts.
"I just interviewed Taking Back Sunday who are in the studio in Los Angeles right now recording their next album. I'd love to interview Rob from the Transplants. I'd love to interview... I really want to do a bunch of up and coming bands as well as established artists, so..."

Hoppus's podcast series titled, "Hi My Name Is Mark," is available from himynameismark.com and at the Apple web store. Meanwhile, Blink 182 will release a career retrospective in November, and he's working on music for his new project, Plus 44.
