311 has released their new album, Don't Tread On Me, and if Hits Magazine's chart is any indication the album will come in at Number 5 on the Billboard chart. Sales were helped out by considerable airplay of the album's title track.

Vocalist Nick Hexum, with bassist P-Nut by his side, talked about the inspiration behind choosing "Don't Tread On Me."

"Well, I always thought "Don't Tread On Me" was such a really cool phrase, and the song "Don't Tread On Me" like o me like the title of the album is kind of about being emotionally volatile, being frustrated and saying, 'I need my space,' but to me the title of the album is very appropriate for this day and age where the world is in such a state of flux."
