The Jacksons were awarded the Icon award at the BMI Urban Awards earlier this month at Los Angeles’s Wilshire Theater. Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, Marlon, Michael, and eventually Randy powered the ‘70s premiere R&B/Pop group, and everyone except Michael showed up to be honored at the event, which gave songwriting awards to T-Pain, Ne-Yo, and others.

Little sister Janet Jackson, who introduced her siblings, said she was honored the other talented members of her family got the recognition they deserve.

The brothers talked about the meaning of the BMI Urban Icon award.

Check back soon as we’ll have thoughts on the awards, and Rick Ross, Ray J, and others talk about the Jackson Family’s footprint on music.
