JOHN MAYER ON CRYING OVER BUCKET LIST SCRIPT
JOHN MAYER PICKY ABOUT MOVIE SONGS

John Mayer, who recently released his album Continuum, was finally swayed to join Hollywood and write a story. His song "Say" is the smash hit written for The Bucket List, starring Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman. The tale of two men befriending each other on their deathbeds and executing a Bucket List -- things to do before kicking the bucket -- moved him.

Mayer recalled crying after reading the script.

He said that he has had many offers to write songs, but The Bucket List was the right opportunity for him and the song "Say."

After a limited release, The Bucket List arrived in theaters for viewing January 11.
