It was an immediate love connection for singer songwriter Josh Kelley when Grey’s Anatomy star Katherine Heigl walked onto the set of his music video for "Only You."  Completely taken by the woman who most people know as Dr. Izzie Stevens, Josh invited her to dinner there and then. The couple soon became an item, even inspiring the little ditty "Katie’s Song." Josh recently released his new album, Just Say The Word, which is in stores and online outlets. Just because he's on to a new album, doesn't mean that he's not sentimental about the past.

A southern gentleman from Augusta, Georgia Josh had the romantic marriage proposal all planned out, to return to the place they met.

“I went back to the place we shot the video for Only You where we met. It took me forever in Venice Beach in L.A., it took me forever to find that bungalow man. I mean I probably walked miles and miles till I recognized it. When I got there the kids that owned the house were just potheads and they were dealing glass pieces and I was like, ‘oh God this is going to be impossible. I was like, ‘guys I need to use your place in two days to ask my girl to marry me. Is that OK?’ They were like, ‘whah? OK man, sure.’ Then they found out that I shot a video there and they tried to charge me a thousand dollars. I said, ‘dude no.’ I brought ‘em a hundred dollars in cash to thank them for keeping it exactly the way it was when it was shot.”

With his location securely in place Josh popped the question to Katherine when she least expected it.

“I set up a table. I had a car pick Katie up and she had no clue. I had a car pick her up saying we were going out to dinner. When she got there she thought it was probably some exclusive place or whatever that was hidden in the middle of nowhere. It was dark and I had set up a table with a nice white tablecloth on a round table with roses, wine, chocolate cake, the music that we listened to when we first started dating, everything. When I brought her up there and set her down she knew what was happening. The sky was completely clear. You could see all the stars. I don’t know why I did this but when she took a bite of the cake that’s when I asked her. I said, ‘take a bite of the cake,’ and when she had this mouthful of cake I was like, ‘will you marry me?’”

She said yes and the soon to be Mr. and Mrs. Kelley took a romantic stroll along the same beach where the video was shot, the end of a perfect proposal.
