3 Doors Down, currently on a break after a successful tour with Nickelback this summer, haven’t forgotten where they come from and lead singer Brad Arnold realizes how important their fans are to their success.

While on a brief touring hiatus, Arnold sang The Star Spangled Banner at the Nascar Nextel Cup Series race on Sunday August 15th and 3 Doors Down are currently recording all new material for a follow up to 2004’s Away From the Sun.

“If we go out and play a ten thousand seat venue or something and you go outside and there’s a hundred and fifty kids standing there wanting your autograph, you go out and you sign every one of them. That’s something that I actually learned from a story that I heard of Willie Nelson. Willie Nelson has never ever one time left somebody standing outside his tour bus wanting an autograph. That’s why he’s been around for so long, you know.
